There's more to me than what meets the office eye. Outside cubical walls, I am passionate about five main areas: Family, Photography, Food, Travel and Sports.

Let's start with my family...

It's small, but incredible. For my husband and I, 2019 marks 9 years of marriage and just the beginning of our lifelong adventure as best friends. My husband, Colin, is an entrepreneur, alumni and leader of the Startup Leadership Program in San Diego and currently the VP of Customer Service for a successful San Diego software company. Together, we have 2 girls - chickens that is! While we do not currently have any children of our own, we love our little chicks and the delicious organic eggs they deliver daily.

Photography, Food and Travel Combined into One...

As far back as I can remember, I've always loved taking photos and documenting memories, finding the best restaurants with the most delicious dishes and have dreamed of visiting far off places.  Luckily for me, my hobbies and favorite things allowed me to start my own website as a creative outlet in 2014 - Type A Trips.  As a professional in the corporate world with a passion for photography and exploring, I focus on creating beautiful, relevant and straightforward content for readers like me.  Type A Trips provides readers with all of the inside information a traveler would need to plan a perfect vacation based on detailed research, organized insights and strategic decisions.  What started as a fun side project has quickly emerged into a popular travel blog, receiving roughly 1,000 visits per day with readers and followers from around the globe.  I often receive emails like this,

“I can’t believe you answered me! I have to say I fan-girled a bit… My family (sisters and mom especially) all have LOVED your blogs so much and so when I told them you answered back…yeah well we all fan-girled. Some of our best trips to Ireland/Scotland and Maui are because of YOU!! You have given us so many amazing ideas and we went to many of the places you suggested. SO THANK YOU!”

Over the years I've lived in Italy and Costa Rica and found myself overcome with a desire for learning about new cultures.  Since those early days of exploration, I've traveled to Spain, France, Mexico, Scotland, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, South Korea, Canada, New York, Chicago, Denver, San Francisco, Phoenix, Boston, Las Vegas, Maui, Michigan, South Carolina, Georgia, Wyoming, Idaho and Louisiana so I can confidently say that I've valiantly attempted to work the travel bug out of my system.

Take Me Out to the Ball Game

I grew up in the Bay Area during the golden era of the 49ers, making Sundays a sacred day in our household. My dad took me to every major sporting event as a kid and that love for competition has stayed with me my whole life.  While these days it's much more painful to be a 49er or a Chargers fan, I play Fantasy Football with a group of guys, including my husband (meaning that some weeks can be very tense in our house) so I follow just about every team.  While I may be the only female within the group, I took the championship in 2015 and continue to be a top competitor - so I'm quite a force to be reckoned with. In addition to football, I'm a dedicated San Francisco Giants fan (I cried when they finally won the World Series in 2010... and 2012 and 2014), I love the San Jose Sharks (there's nothing like a grown man with missing teeth being slammed up against the glass) and am a die hard Los Angeles Lakers fan (and you're right - it's weird that it's not the Warriors, but no one liked the Warriors until a few years ago, ok?).  So if you really want to know where my happy place is... just take me to a game and buy me a hot dog.
